Original engine control module P68243303AB has failed, need to reprogram another used one to the car, can IM608 work with those? I'm getting: "Device unable to communicate" message. Security is bypassed, all other modules can be accessed no problem. -

Need some help, please :-) Car is actually 2019, I can buy Tech Authority, but I I'm not sure whether it would allow me to change VIN in used Engine Control Module to match the rest of vehicle or not? There is no way I can read old ECM due to physical damage it it. -

You will need the PIN number for the truck. Install the used ECM and run the PCM
replaced function in the RFH. If the ECM came out of a vehicle with the same engine, it
should run fine. -

What do you mean "the security is bypassed"? Do you mean that you bypassed the
SGM? If so, that may not work. Also, are you saying that you have no commucation
with the used ECM? If so, you have a bad module or a power,ground or data link
problem to the ECM. -

Thank you Kevin! I read PIN via IMMO function of IM608 no problem. Went to diagnostics, everything communicates except for ECM. Tried both bypass cable and jumping to pins on Star connector - it works 100% for key programming. -

Sounds like you lost power,ground or data link to the ECM. I'll look at some diagrams
and post back.
